A GoFundMe page has raised more than $627,000 for the victims of the Las Vegas massacre.
Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak posted the funding request with the website Monday, and thousands of donations ranging from $5 to $650 poured in.
By 1 p.m., 2,506 people had donated money.
“Funds will be used to provide relief and financial support to the victims and families of the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting,” Sisolak wrote.
Authorities were also calling on the public to donate blood.
Mass shooting at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas
Stephen Craig Paddock is believed to be responsible for firing an automatic weapon from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel into a country music concert crowd, killing 50 people and wounding more than 200.
Las Vegas police stormed the hotel, but Paddock shot himself to death before they entered his room.
“As much as I would like to donate blood, I cannot stand that long in a line, so maybe this can help,” wrote Dennis Hoelzle on the donation page.
